“Fahrenheit” is hot at the Providence Art Club
I recently took in this great show at the exhibition in the Maxwell Mays Gallery in the Providence Art Club in Providence, Rhode Island. Three artists, all working in encaustic, show their unique approaches to composition and the medium.
New England Wax member Angel Dean shows a bright colorful array of pieces made during the height of the Covid Pandemic. These deeply layered organic flowing works both intrigue and sooth the viewers eye. They would always offer newness to a collector.

New England Wax member Nancy Whitcomb has an eye for the familiar and then gives it a twist. Whimsy is present in her works and one is drawn to look closer to get the message. I loved Ready for School with the monkey on the books. Relationships Robe has chapters of insights. Very fun!

Georgia Nassikas presents large pieces of textured but calm work in tones of white, grey and pale pastels. Perfect counter balance to the show.
